Elon Musk Applauds Trump’s Peace Efforts Amid Ceasefire Deal Between Israel and Hamas

Amid rising tensions with Donald Trump over his flagship proposal, “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk took to social media on Wednesday to commend the U.S. President’s diplomatic prowess. Musk praised Trump for his role in brokering a proposed ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, as the conflict in Gaza shows signs of a possible pause.

“Credit where credit is due. @realDonaldTrump has successfully resolved several serious conflicts around the world,” Musk posted on X, sharing a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social update announcing the truce.

Earlier in the day, Trump revealed that his team had engaged in high-level talks with Israeli officials concerning the ongoing violence in Gaza. With Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu scheduled to visit Washington next week, Trump declared, “Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalise the 60-Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War.”

Trump also noted that Qatar and Egypt—key mediators in the Israel-Hamas conflict—would be delivering the final proposal. “I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” he warned.

The former president also indicated he would take a hardline stance with Netanyahu when they meet on July 7. The recent conclusion of Israel’s 12-day war with Iran, which followed U.S. airstrikes on Tehran’s nuclear facilities, appears to have opened a diplomatic window for a potential resolution. Trump is reportedly eager to add another peace agreement to his roster of international negotiations.

‘Negotiator-in-Chief’ Trump

Throughout his presidency and campaign, Donald Trump has emphasized his self-proclaimed role as a world-class dealmaker. Prior to his second term in the White House, he pledged to end the Russia-Ukraine war within “24 hours” of assuming office and expressed confidence in resolving the Israel-Hamas conflict in a similar time frame.

Trump also mocked countries hit by his “Liberation Day” tariffs, claiming they were quick to come to the negotiation table to avoid further economic damage.

One of Trump’s more controversial claims involves his alleged intervention in averting a military clash between India and Pakistan. He asserted that his threat to cut off trade talks played a key role in de-escalating tensions after 26 tourists were killed in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in April. Indian officials, however, deny any such involvement by the U.S.

Most notably, Trump has been credited for negotiating a ceasefire between Israel and Iran after nearly two weeks of heightened military conflict—a move that international observers say may have helped catalyze the current talks with Hamas.

As global leaders prepare for further diplomatic engagements in Washington, the proposed 60-day ceasefire stands as another possible addition to Trump’s legacy of high-stakes international negotiations.
