Chirag Paswan Vows to Contest All 243 Bihar Seats, Slams Conspiracy and Opposition Ahead of Assembly Polls

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan on Sunday alleged a political conspiracy aimed at derailing his ambitions in Bihar. Speaking at a public rally in Saran district, Paswan declared his firm intention to contest the upcoming assembly elections, vowing to fight on all 243 seats across the state.

“There is a clear conspiracy to prevent me from stepping fully into Bihar politics,” Paswan said. “But I am undeterred. From this land of Saran, I want to make it known — I will contest the assembly polls. Every segment will see Chirag Paswan fighting with full intensity.”

Paswan, a junior ally in the NDA, asserted his commitment to the state’s progress. “My dream is a Bihar where our youth do not need to migrate for opportunities. Instead, people from other states will come here for better education and employment. But my passion seems to make some people uncomfortable,” he said.

Criticizing attempts to create confusion around his candidacy, he said, “They question whether I’ll contest the elections. Let me end all doubts — I am contesting, and I am doing so with complete dedication.”

Paswan also raised concerns over recent incidents of crime in Bihar, citing the killing of industrialist Gopal Khemka. “These incidents cast a shadow on the governance of the Nitish Kumar-led government, which we support and which has until now been praised for good governance,” he remarked.

Touching upon past personal and political setbacks, Paswan recalled being ousted from the party he once led and forced to vacate the 12, Janpath bungalow, long associated with his father and party founder, Ram Vilas Paswan. This followed the 2021 split in the LJP, when his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras broke away and joined the Union cabinet.

“Despite being expelled from my own party and my own home, I have never backed down. I believe in my vision of ‘Bihar First, Bihari First’, and that vision continues to guide me,” he said.

He expressed displeasure over Paras aligning with the opposition INDIA bloc after quitting the NDA earlier this year, and criticized the Congress-led alliance for pushing policies like the proposed inheritance tax in its Lok Sabha election manifesto.

In a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Paswan took aim at Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘Chhatra Yuva Sansad’ campaign, where free pens are being distributed among students. “Those who once promised jobs in exchange for land are now handing out pens,” he said, alluding to the land-for-jobs scandal involving RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Paswan also lent his support to the demand for a domicile policy for Bihar’s youth. “Our young men and women deserve protection of their rights. But let’s not forget, the domicile policy introduced in 2006 was scrapped in 2023, during the time when RJD leaders held key portfolios in the state government,” he stated.

As Bihar gears up for a critical election, Chirag Paswan is positioning himself as a bold contender willing to challenge the status quo, mobilize youth support, and push forward a new vision for the state.

“After winning these elections,” he concluded, “we will build a Bihar where no one has to step outside their home in fear. This is not just about politics — it’s about building a better tomorrow for every Bihari.”
